Shelly Baker is a wealth strategist who has 31 years of experience in a variety of roles within the financial services industry. She began her career at Morgan Keegan and was a principal equity trader for 12 years in the equity capital markets division. She is passionate about empowering her clients to take control of their financial lives. A lifetime Memphian, she graduated from the University of Memphis with a BBA Finance degree. If you feel like you’ve seen Shelly’s face before, it’s because you have! Shelly was a W&A team member previously and we are so excited to have her back.
Shelly is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and a Certified Trust and Financial Analyst (CTFA) practitioner. She received the Memphis Business Journal’s Five Star Wealth Manager Award* five years in a row and is a staunch advocate for financial planning in her community.
A philanthropist at heart, Shelly has served on several non-profit boards, and volunteers for many organizations including St. Jude, LeBonheur, Ronald McDonald House, and Memphis Humane Society. Additionally, she is a member of the Estate Planning Council and Financial Planning Association.
Shelly is mom to a thirteen-year-old daughter and is very involved in the life of her adult stepson who has special needs. Good thing she’s a superhero! After enduring a double hip replacement in 2021, Shelly considers herself the bionic woman. When she’s not enriching her clients’ lives, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends, and lives by the following Tony Robbins quote, “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin”.
